Crazy problems with my car (maybe fuses?)
Barely drove my car this weekend because I was skiing in deep creek. Drove it last night on an errand, and again this morning to get to the ski resort. Got in it this afternoon, and the windows wouldn't drop when I opened the door. And then they would rest on the OUTSIDE of the frame when I closed it, with a very visible gap between the window and the frame of the car
Also, headlights are on at all times, but not turn signals. Turn signals don't work at all. Hazard lights don't work. Map lights don't work. Speedometer backlighting doesn't work. Hill holder doesn't work. Adaptive headlights don't turn/move. Fog lights don't work. High beams don't work. DRLs don't work. And, I'm pretty sure the reverse lights weren't working (could be wrong about this though, didn't verify). I'm PRAYING that this is a simple fuse fix, but it seems like a lot of non-related things to be on one fuse. I'm really concerned about how much this is going to cost because A: it's not something that should be happening to a car this young (or any car, for that matter), and B: I've been spending a small fortune on maintenance and repairs for this car. PS: Please don't give me the stupid "if you can't afford to fix it, don't buy it" BS. We've all heard it. |

Did someone try to steal it when you weren't in it?

2010 with 74k miles. The only reason I don't think it's the battery is that the car starts up fine, and has been starting up fine since these errors started occurring. Would the car have this severe of a problem but still start OK if the battery was dying? At this point I would be happy for that to be the problem....
Just heard back from the independent shop I've been going to for years and it isn't a fuse. They think it might be a body control module, which is scary because I believe those are very expensive.... Does anyone have experience with that? A little more background to complicate things even more: a year ago I had the taillight replaced after a minor accident, and about a month ago the Tps controller module failed. It turns out that the body shop forgot to put any sealing or gasket along the top of the taillight, causing water to collect in the right rear of the car where the controller module is. The body shop verbally said they'd honor fixing the tail light and the module appropriately, I just haven't been able to schedule it in with them because of the holidays. My course of action now is to get a dealership to diagnose it, and then see if all of these problems stem from the water logged module in the back... |
