It is always dinging at me when I pick up a 12 pack and it rides shot gun. I just started getting into the habit of buckling in the beer. I get some strange looks from ppl that glance over and see my beer all nice and safe though.
My mom let me drive her Ford Escape and I like the safety feature in that. The radio will not turn on unless the seat belts are on. |

There's nothing wrong with buckling in the beer. It's precious cargo.

Beer = prefect reason to put seatbelt on it. Cannot have alcohol abuse.

If you want to do it, you should visit b m w c o d i n g . c o m (eliminate the spaces). As is typical for this subject and site, I did not see a perfect answer but I saw several threads where people indicated they had successfully made this change. There is a spreadsheet on the F10 section where they show individual instructions for the driver and passengers warning sound and visual symbol. What I have found before is the command is the same but I found it in a different module in my e88. There was another thread where a e82 reported what module he found some of these instructions in.
That website will also tell you what it takes to code. I can be frustrating but the cash outlay is around $100 for a cable - cheaper models may work but the results seem inconsistent. There are other things you can do (like make your doors unlock when you take the key out). I coded my convertible to put the top down with the remote (I do not have comfort access). Jim

Where it annoys me is I take my seatbelt off when I get in my building's garage and it goes off until I get into my spot. It's not along time but its annoying when it is every day. Trying to get someone to code it out ASAP.

The same website has information on coders across the country. A word of caution, however. When you code, you have the capability to do a lot of things you do not intend to do. You can really mess up a car. You could make it totally non-functional and need a dealer to restore the programming to a state it will function. This should never happen, it is not hard to do things right, but it could. I would be careful who I let code my car - that is a reason I do it myself. I'd check references before letting somebody access my car's computer.
