Which OBD2 code reader? wireless
I have been doing my search but I got a bit confused.
Looking for a wireless code reader. Which one? If you can provide a link the better. Thanks. Last edited by AlvaSpeed; 06-24-2016 at 09:25 PM.. |

A wireless wi-fi Elm 327 (generic adapter) should work with the majority of apps. I'm assuming you have an iPhone, if you have an Android you can get away with any Bluetooth adapter.

I've got the OBDLink LX and really like it. I appreciate the power saving mode especially. High quality, but you get what you pay for.

Might as well get the BMWhat/Carly adapter and Android app. Then you can code your car easily too.

I got my Carly adapter from Amazon. They were out of stock, I contacted Carly and they said they would be in stock in a week or so and they were. Expensive compared to other obd2 readers but it works great with their app. I tried a cheap one that did read codes through Carly app but that's about all it would do. My car is out of warranty so the price of the Carly adapter and app is a little less than the dealer wants to just read the codes so worth it to me. Also was able to finally turn off the headlight washers through coding that I was previously told could not be done.
I now have an odd fault that the dealer said sometimes occurs and requires coding to fix. I emailed Carly on how to resolve and they sent the detailed coding instructions. |
