BMW Navigation DVD - Europe - 2006-1 Available for Download

I'm not condoning this at all, but for info, the BMW 2006-1 Navigation DVD for Europe is now out there as a .torrent file. It's just over 2.3Gb as an ISO.

Again - not condoning the copying of this stuff, use of bittorrent or anything else that's not strictly allowed, but seeing as it's BMW, some people may be interested

Although it does also apparently contain a software upgrade - anyone know if this is true, and if so, what's on it? (Not that bothered about MP3 playback... got an iPod.. )

The 2006-1 Business DVD doesn't itself contain an upgrade, however there is an insert that says it requires the 'latest' software in order to function (which will be free if needed). However, I don't think this applies to the E90 as mine already has the functionality that determines whether or not an upgrade is required (icons at the top of the arrow screen to display traffic messages, mute nav, and cancel nav).

I'm thinking this insert applies to the E60 5er.

Hmm, intersting. The Professional system already has those icons down the left hand side of the map view (and the arrow view takes up the right hand side of the wider display).. wonder what else could be on it. Either way, new maps would be nice... I'll investigate further...

So it looks like the E90's had this functionality from day one. Then the update must only be for E60's that have software prior to March 2005.

PS: I only know this because my E90 loaner came with the 2006-1 DVD.
