Adding Boost Gauge n55

Yes, I know, jb4 has gauge hijacking. I need a Boost gauge on my n55 so I can monitor Boost while my hijacked gauges show meth flow and timing. Anyone add a boost gauge to a n55? I have heard you need to tap the Chargepipe.

I had a line running from one of the bungs on my charge pipe to my P3 gauge.
No reason you couldn't use any other gauge though.

Another question is where the best place to mount the gauge would be so it doesn't look out of place or ricish

I was just thinking about this too lo. The gauge hijacking is cool. But any turbo car should come with a boost gauge imo. The alternative is the Jb4 mobile app w/ cell phone which works well

So the P3cars works for JUST boost w/ the JB4 if you run the boost line?

Depends on which version of the P3 you get. The older ones didn't.
Talk to them before you order to confirm.

This may differ on your car, but have you considered the section below the radio?

You could tilt the gauges up and toward the drivers version for a peripheral view.

Just an update, I can't install the boost gauge because there is no vacuum line coming from the engine.
I only have 3 option ,
1. Change the stock charge pipe to aftermarket
2. Fmic
3. Drill a hole from the intake.

myr6 I think you need an upgraded charge pipe for an aftermarket BOV regardless. There are a few inexpensive and good options on the market currently : Cobb and VRSF.

bmw0bsession Yeah that was my only concern. Boost seems like something you want eyes on. A pyrometer or something is more like a "oh shiiiii" warning light anyway hahaha.

Reviving this dead thread because Im still interested in this, without using a meth bung on the charge pipe.

How about the vacuum line running from the wastegate actuator to the waste gate? T into that vacuum line, kinda like you would install an old bleed valve boost controller. Then run the line to the gauge? Would that be accurate?

I want to know about boost gauge options as well with the N55. I still have stock charge pipe, but currently looking for a aftermarket one right now.

Anyone try one of these boost taps?

Looks like it installs inline between a sensor (MAP?) and the manifold? If there is a reason it wouldn't work I'll just pull the manifold and drill/tap. New to BMW and especially new to having zero vacuum hoses available to tap into!

The tap didn't provide an accurate pressure reading for me... ended up using one of the meth holes on the charge pipe and it works great plus the tmap is sensitive and really should be on the stock mount, not half inch removed from the charge pipe.
Buy a 90 degree tap and decent boost line, then wire up the gauge, you won't read vacuum on an N55

I have automever euro style gauge for boost and aem wideband gauges mounted in an ATI dual gauge mount, replaces stock upper steering wheel column. Needed to be modified to clear my paddle shifters, but a nice option.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like drilling/tapping the intake manifold is going to be the way to go for my application. As far as a pod, I plan to fabricate a vent pod for the driver side vent.

I have a 2011 N55 w/ P3 gauge. I bought the gauge before I installed my JB4, not knowing it would cause the JB4 to reset constantly. I purchased the kit new below from a fellow member and never got around to installing it as I decided I didn't want a $400 vent gauge for boost only. Both are available for sale if anyone is interested.
