I think people are learning that just because a car is faster, does not mean it is more fun. I think this is a big part why older analog cars without flappy paddle bullshit and 14 different chassis and shifting programs are increasing in value so much these days. It is more about the fun factor than ultimate speed. |

I also had an 2000 Integra Type R and it was so much fun. Bought it new, sold it in 2002 to save money for the upcoming Mazda RX-8, what a mistake and I never bought it. But the manual Lexus IS300 2003 was really nice to drive, just lacking 50 hp or so...
Ferrari 458 for 10 laps on a track: the fastest car I drove but that slow Lambo up front was cutting my fun :-P. I would never want onr for the street, too easy to drive, not engaging enough. 2 cars I think would be best: Mazda RX-7, Lotus Exige... I want to rent a Lotus for 1-2 days... |

Of the cars I've owned, it would have to be my old Lada Niva. It wasn't fun in the conventional kind of way but every single time I drove it I had a massive smile on my face. People would always look at it funny and ask what it was. It had a hand crank and it was always hilarious to see people react when I got it out in the middle of a busy car park to start it.
I paid $300 for it and sold it for $600. It went absolutely anywhere due to being light and having factory diff lockers with front and rear independent coil suspension and pretty decent clearance. Everything I know about working on my own cars, I learned from owning my Lada. I miss it so much and I still regret ever selling it. |

Definitely 2016 Corvette Z06....you feel like superman. Just unlimited power; enough to make you think twice about mashing the gas on public roads. :-D

1987 E30 325IS, was my first car and started my love affair with BMW. It was a project in the sense that I had to redo the floors, rockers, and anything else you can think of, but man was it ridiculous to drive (drifting to cruising). Car had soul and feel to it, not to mention I straight piped it and holy F#$% was it loud and horny.
1974 Pontiac Trans-Am, my dads project/hot-rod. We got rid of the original engine which I think was a 400. Got a hold of a 454 big block that's been stroked and bored to a 494 (It came from a 1969 Camaro SS). It has roller valves and let me tell you, HOLY F#%$!!!!!! It was dyno'd in Boston and sent back to Oshawa, Canada after being built by some company, thing has roughly 800hp, 800ft-lb, and smokes anything on the street from a stand still (besides 3 other cars in area but they have blowers and parachutes). We put the engine in, full 3.5" exhaust, recaro racing seats, bolt-in roll cage, 4 point harness belts, sticky mickey small tire drags, a bunch of crap. He used to own one when I was a little boy, so this brings me to my childhood but since it has a big cheese engine, all I want to do is drive around with him. I am however pulling his leg about getting a blower, but he doesn't want to pull the engine and change cams ect.. to me, it's worth it sorry for the I would post a picture but it wants small photos, mine is like 6000 x 3000 and it wants a standard 1900 x 1200 pretty much. After fu$%#g around, here's a youtube video. |

(Just for fun)
I'm hungry... got mustangs? On a more serious note, that thing sounds vicious! Is that your dad's car in the video?

Yep, I found a video last year. It has a 4" cowl fiberglass hood now. We've done a full chrome swap on the front of the engine which included power steering (which is a PITA if you ever have to bleed), alternator and water pump. Soon we will do a battery relocation to the truck. It's also very loud. When he starts it, and I park the 1er beside and lock it, it sets off the alarm lol.
Give you an idea of how fast this old hot-rod is, my dad's friend is a doctor. Owns a brand new 911 turbo, the 911 gets the first few feet but once you hit 2nd gear with the trans-am, it's see you later. This year we hope to make it to the Picton Arm drop, unfortunately my dad had a aneurysm burst last year which was very scary but he's fine now. So we will see how fast it is in the 1/4 mile. I'll even try to get a video of the inside again when he steps on it, it is nothing but smiles. |

My 2008 M5 6spd is fun for the numbing V10 power but the 2000 Z3 2.8 5spd MSport I traded in when I got the 135i DCT was fun as hell. So my vote is split between them.

one of the most balanced and low-key fun cars ever - R8 V8 the go anywhere, do anything... camp vehicle end of the day I love 911's every car has it's own personality, and I like them all - especially the quirky ones. |

I have two favorite cars from the past. Pics are representative. Not my cars.
1970 Opel GT White with red interior 105 HP 4 cyl inline NA 4-sp manual 165x13 bias ply tires "Sometimes you just need to have a car in your garage to look at. The shape is beautiful and compelling, even if performance is just par." 1980 Mazda RX7 Black on black 103 HP 12A radial engine 5-sp manual 185/70R13 radial tires "This car really taught me to drive. Willing revs, great suspension, wonderful sounds, real time feedback from all the controls."

I've had a bunch of bmw cars over the years.
Currently 13 135, 10 335, 16 x6. The 335 with the n54 is my current preference. Like the way it seems to pull better in lower rpm settings than the n55 which revs smoother. Favorite bmw 00 and later a 02 z3 M roadsters. Great rough little riders that were rough around the edges and a lot of fun to toss around. Least favorite that I thought I'd live was an 06 z4m. Dialed out the fun and made it a more practical smooth and faster car. Sure it's much better than the current z4 but still lacked that z3 rawness. I currently and for a while have kept some big gun American muscle and miss the c6 supercharged vette I had, but with a 3 year old i upgraded to a back seat and have a 2010 camaro as. This is my current "fun" car. Something about a car that breaks the tires loose at the top of 3rd gear at 90mph anytime it's cooler than 60 degrees. |

Being in Florida, the land of grey-market imports I've gotten to drive a ton of JDM cars.
Nissan: Skyline: R34 GTT R34 GTR R33 GTS-T Silvia: S15 Spec-R (2 of them) Toyota Aristo (twin turbo model) Toyota Chaser (manual turbo 1JZ model) And one of the fastest ones of them all - Subaru STI Type RA. The GTR was probably one of the more fun, just by how planted it felt. It delivered power VERY smooth and was always in control. The S15s were the complete opposite - those were still really fun.

A 2014 C7 vette, back when it first came out. It was my first time driving something american with a huge V8. Long story short, could not stop giggling like a little girl. Kicked the tail out once or twice, and the sound of the V8 is insane. I can't image 650hp in the Z06.
Also, my friend's NB miata was the first small, RWD car I had ever driven and took around some corners with speed. My perspective on driving changed that day.
