Out of curiosity, and without intentionally hijacking your thread, I've never understood the benefit of having an unlocked iPhone. You're only going to get 3G data speeds on AT&T's network, correct?

Better apps and a better screen layout with more customization.

If you're tricky you can also put in a tmobile or Verison sim card and run off of that network

inside the US it makes no sense
unless for some reason you are bound to T-mobile (paid for by work) or something
BUT
the minute you step outside the states it makes a world of difference
i'll give you an example
when i go to Egypt in the summer, if i use my AT&T chip, i pay $2.89 a minute
if i pop in my egyptian chip i pay 4 cents
so it's mainly for the people who travel a lot

it's GSM
verizon is CDMA
different frequencies
plus if it was verizon, you couldn't talk and browse at the same time
and you'd have to deal with that geek calling you every so often

They will not work on the Verizon Network. They will work on T-mobile. I've been in the JB game for iphones since 2007.
