at $25k, I think you're dreaming, but other than that, since you list no reasons why you are thinking of selling it, I can't really give you my input...unless this is a thinly veiled for sale post just to get traffic...

I see others not far lower that are not ideally optioned. I think mine is what a lot of enthusiasts are looking for.

Appreciate the response

You can get a 135i under 30k miles for less than you're asking. Good on you if you can get 25k.

By the way, you mention special "2018" at the beginning of your post.

And if you can get $25k, then go ahead but see what KBB says.

My 35k mile, 2012 135i is around $21k private party and the 135i cars for sale around me with the same mileage are going for the most of $23k. Most of them being fully loaded.

Good luck.

Thanks. Good to know what comps are. Non-turbo's are also highly sought after as well. Plus the car has a 7 year/70k BMW Extended Coverage Protection - Gold coverage. This is valued at between $2500-$3000.

Your car is mint! I think you can get asking price for it if you're willing to wait for the right buyer! You've got to find someone who really wants a mint condition 1 series and is willing to pay top dollar for it!

Low 20's is realistic given the configuration. EAG might be worth pinging with your low mileage.

I passed up many lower priced 135's in the hunt for my 128. 6MT + M Sport + no turbo is a rare and great combination to drive. With a sunroof delete it's around 3,000-3,100 lbs, a modern day e36 m3. Glad I dumped my 335 for it.

Having driven several 128s, I think you're on crack if you think its A. worth more and B. drives better in any way shape or form. With that said, I guess people are different in the end, so enjoy it.

IMHO I think your a bit on the high side. I just purchased a black on black 2011 128i M-sport slicktop manual for 17300 from a dealer with 55k miles. Sport no power seats and in perfect condition. Car was also perfect underneath as it was a warm weather car no winter. The loan officer jacked my rate .25% because I was over blue book. These are tough cars to find and have more value than what kbb thinks they are worth.

In your case you may find the right buyer but it may take a while

If by crack you mean my addiction to what has historically defined BMW, then yes I suppose I am. Their mix of handling, 50/50 weight distribution, and linear power is what brought me to the brand as an enthusiast and employee almost 20 years ago. I realize this new wave of turbo era cars has brought new enthusiasts to the brand with different priorities.

The n54/55 variants are heavier, mostly in the nose, and by simple physics do not handle as well as their non-turbo counterparts. I'd rather be able to carry another 5mph through a tight corner than get to freeway speed faster. I do agree that automatic equipped 128i's are ruined by the lack of a third pedal and are about as fun as a Jetta to drive.

For what it's worth I ordered an e92 335i in the last year of production. I spec'ed it with a 6MT and M Sport, basically the same configuration as my current 128i and while the e92 was a nice car, there isn't a day I miss it. My e82 is simply more fun to drive.

While you're in disbelief at what n51/52 powered cars are worth to some people, check out what 6MT e91's are selling for. Nicely spec'ed ones are selling for 25k+, more than some M3s. Low production spec'ed BMWs have always commanded a premium in the secondary market to the right buyer.

If you're not in a hurry you'll get your money. As you say, it will come from someone searching for BMW history, and what you have is the last of its kind. These cars may hit a bottom somewhere but then they'll upswing like so many classics before them. Remember when it was cheap to buy a nice 2002tii?

Please spare me the "new enthusiasts" bullshit. Here is what we owned for nearly 20 years, built by Korman, in case you were trying to find out how "new" of a BMW enthusiast I may be.
Anyway, like I said earlier, enjoy whatever floats your boat.

How can you enjoy driving something so slow?

I love how every 128 thread in the general forum devolves into a place for 135 owners to thumb their noses at.

Smug asshole.

His forum name is Captain Slowly after all.

But seriously, it's interesting to see various perspectives about why one would choose one car over another.

But does this have to devolve into an insult exchange?

Clearly this is a thread about a 128 based on the title. I offer an opinion about the OP's vehicle and he calls me a crack head for liking a 128.

This whole 135 vs 128 need for validation is why I don't bother with this forum much anymore. Perhaps I should go troll and laugh at 135 threads when all their hpfp's, dct's, and rod bearing failures occur.

It's just a dialogue back and forth which you can choose to ignore if you want. No offense, but the OP would be the more important one in terms of whether he felt the replies were meaningful or not.

Visit a mustang forum sometime. Same. Exact. Issue.

Guys who mod their v6s only to have 5.0 owners say you should have just bought the v8. I say to each their own. Why do you think cars like Miatas and BRZs sell. I wouldn't buy one of them but people like them. There's something for everyone. I say GLWS and leave it at that. More power to you if someone will pay what you ask.

I think my personal issue is despite what I think my car is worth, it always comes down to what someone else is willing to pay. I take very good of my cars and that doesn't typically translate into someone offering me more than another similar car not nearly as well maintained.

I eliminate the resale variable as I've shown history of holding on to my cars for a very long time. At the point when I'm moving to something else, the resale value doesn't become much of a factor in the make/break decision on buying the next car.

I'd still be driving my 06 Focus and leaving the 135i as a garage queen had it not been that stupid deer I hit. And I currently still own an 04 ZX-10R which looks almost like it just rolled off the showroom. In the biking world, to have a bike that ancient is usually an anomaly.

Stupid deer, ruining a perfectly good Focus.
