How-to on replacing H8 Halos?

Either I am blind or they are so easy to replace that they don't need a how-to... but I need to replace a burnt out H8 angel eye bulb on my 135i and I can't seem to find a how-to. Is it super easy? I can find a lot of e90 how-to videos, is it similar? Do I need to access it through the wheel well, or just through the engine bay?

Sorry, if there is a how-to please direct me and you can bash me if as a newb if you want, but I seriously just searched for 15 minutes.

Hahahaha. It would have taken you less time if you would have opened the hood and just looked at it for 8 mins and then removed. The covers on the back of the lights are a b word to get off and they're even worse to get back on and make sure they're on right. 2 pins on the bottom fit into slots so tilt the cover top back and pull the cover out. Then grab the back of the bulb and turn then remove. When putting the covers back on make sure the bottom pins are in first.

As stated its a H8 bulb inside the black plastic headlights cover.

Advice: try to take the bulb out without taking the cover off completely. Much easier if you can.

I JUST did this a few days ago. The driver side is easy. Release the two bolts holding the airbox to give you a bit more space and you can move the airbox out of the way. There are two metal clips that swing out of the way of a black light cover that protects the bulbs from the elements. One clip on either side of the cover. Swing these over and wiggle up and out the cover. The H8 bulb (stock) has a yellow back and it's the bulb closest to the radiator on both sides. Turn the bulb counter clockwise to unlock it and pull it out. May have to wiggle a little bit because they might be tough to release. Unplug that bulb and plug in the new one and place it back into the housing ensuring that the three teeth are in the housing before turning it clockwise to lock it in place. Place back the back headlight cover ensuring the two feet are in the proper slots and then clip those metal clips back on. If it doesn't go on with just slight pressure, then the cover isn't on properly.

The passenger side is virtually the same but the cover is a lot harder to put back. So as someone said above, try to do it without removing the cover completely from the headlight.

Hope this helps!

You guys are awesome... I did the passenger side last night in a parking lot. My hands are a bit cut up though, what a tough spot to get your hands into. Getting the cover off was pretty easy, but getting it back on was tricky. Thanks again!

Getting the covers back on is a real test of your patience. Unreal.
