AC Schnitzer's development of a BMW 1M coupe tuning program is underway. They join tuners such as Revozport, Kelleners Sport, TechTec, and others who have sought to put their own custom touches on the small monster M. That so many tuners are developing parts for a short run car such as the 1M coupe is a testament to its appeal as a true enthusiasts' car.

GTspirit was recently invited to AC Schnitzer's design and work shop to observe head designer Michele Vindante working on the AC Schnitzer 1M Coupe.

The aero part design starts with a computer generated design, which then moves on to clay modeling (on a small scale). A mold is then cast from the final clay model. The mold is then translated to a true-to-life size and form via digitalization. The final part is then structured of the digitized model and can be constructed from carbon fiber or PU-Rim (polyurethane like material).

The actual parts intended for the AC Schnitzer 1M Coupe program includes a front lip, rear diffuser, and roof diffuser. Everything but the roof spoiler will be available in CF.

The suspension kit will lower the 1M by 10 or 20mm and there will 20" wheels available. Exhaust modification comes in the form of a slip-on exhaust system with signature AC Schnitzer tips. Brakes come off the AC Schnitzer E92 M3 coupe will also be available for the 1M.

As for extra power, a performance tune is said to be available as well.

Look for the production AC Schnitzer BMW 1M Coupe to make its debut at the Frankfurt IAA in September.

Head on over to GTspirit for more even insight.

Rear diffuser looks really good!

Any pics with the front lip on?

Rims are nice except for the black indentations/accents. IMHO, if they took those out the rims would complement with the car a lot better.

How many rear diffusers does the 1M have?

its ok dan, AC schnitzer stuff is ugly as hell. I'm waiting to see how they ruin the 1M.

why can't more companies produce clean kits like 3D design?

Wow... I never liked those rims but they look good on the 1M. I hope the rest of their exterior pieces looks good on the car!

Typo maybe?? I think they meant side skirts.

I really like the diffuser on the 1M since Ac Schnitzer has been manufacturing shitty kits for BMW's lately. They actually pulled it off this time around with that diffuser.

I got a feeling that the front lip will not look good on on the 1M. We'll just wait and see...

Ac Schintzer does that every time. Try out their semi-outdated rims on a new BMW model.

I bet they will throw those rims on the F10 M5 and the new M6. LOL!

AC Schnitzer has become the Veilside of the Euro tuning scene. That rear diffuser is hideous. If you think that looks good, please don't mod your car.

I've never seen an AC car I liked. All their designs look like garbage. And the problem is they can't take a hint. The same garbage ends up on every BMW. The 1M is perfect out of the box and if ACS thinks they can improve on it, they are sadly mistaken.
And on another note, why would they try to engineer new parts for such a low volume car? Can they really make that much of a profit? VERY VERY few 1M owners would dare put any of their crap on an already classic BMW.
