I picked her up yesterday and she's back and other than the missing tint on that side you would never know anything happened. They did a great job.

Hopefully I won't have to deal with anything like this again any time soon.

Well thats inevitable but at least no one got hurt and for now its as if nothing happened.

Keep the damage pics handy to show buyers the damage was superficial and not structural...

Why would anyone shy away from a bumper replacement? Heck I bought a 135i with a fender dent - dentless removal - hey presto, all in good nick. Don't be too concerned with 'what the next person will think'.

+1, I replaced my bumper. If someone didn't want to buy my car because of that, well, sucks to be them lol.

It matters because when you pull up a carfax it pops up, and regardless of whether it was a minor bumper defect or a bigger crash, that has a psychological effect on people and it scares them away. That little red flag brings the car's value down automatically, no matter what it was. I know it's bs, but it's the way it works.

I speak from experience. Had an A4 that I had to sell well under market value because of that. No one cared what the damage was, they just weren't going to pay for a car with a "dirty" car fax, at least not nearly as much as one with a clean one. I for one would personally never buy a car with an accident report. Not because of possible damages, but because I know it would be exponentially harded to sell it for a fair price later...

not trying to be overly pessimistic... that's just the way it works..... folks at carfax do their marketing right
