About speeding ticket...
Hi everyone. I was hoping that everyone could share their experiences. I don't speed usually and have a clean record. However, I was really tired the other day after a week of work with little sleep, so I was in a hurry to get home after work. I wasn't watching the speedo, but even then it wasn't very fast. Anyway, I stopped at a red light and as I was pulling away after the light turned green, I was pulled over. The copy said I was doing 30 km/h over in a 50 km/h zone. He seemed really aggressive and annoyed, too.
Anyway, I'm curious why he didn't pull me over while I was supposedly speeding. Why did he pull me over while I was driving away after the light turned green? I really don't believe I was going as quickly as he claimed. |

I mean the only thing you can do is ask how he clocked your speed...and if it was with radar ask to see the gun
there's nothing much else you can do but go to court and fight the ticket |

i got a minor ticket a little while back for making an illegal left turn. this was at like 1 in the morning and there were no cars around. turns out the cop was chillin in the parking lot that i pulled out of and i didnt notice. the cop pulled over a good 8-9 miles after i did it. the only reason i could think of why he didnt pull me over right away was that he was seeing if i would commit a greater infraction.
that might have been why he waited for you, but gave up since obviously now you knew he was there and your not stupid enough to peel out at the light.

don't you love how they wait to see if you'll commit a greater infraction....just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside
not to mention the entire time they're behind you they're on your ass...you could practically open your trunk and they could jump right in |

Yes, you have to watch how fast you're really going in this car...it can be very deceptive. Sometimes it feels like I'm going 40 mph and I'll check the odometer, and it'll say 70 mph!!

Okay let's be honest when they are riding your ass like that, you are looking in your rearview 99.9% of the time you are driving.
Aside from that not being safe, it is quite annoying so your best bet is to just pull right over and admit you were wrong and apologize. Hopefully the cop will be pleased with your actions and let you go. Sounds foolish as a lot of people would like that slight CHANCE of him not pulling you over, but let's face it you've been there before you know it's coming. So safe yourself the pain of driving while looking in the rearview and possibly doing something worse. |
