The paint protection film is much more $$$ than a vinyl for starters and clearly has its benefits over just laying down vinyl.
I am also talking about PPF film but its clear matte and converts finish and is not $7k.
Xpel came out with Stealth film which is like any other PPF.

Very good (and noble) work, Glassoman, giving these 1Ms another chance in life. Will make it a point to stop by one day and say yellow.

Somewhat off-topic, but do you have a good upholsterer in the area you can recommend (looking for custom type work)? TIA

most of the damage was caused by whatever the coupe ran into on the lower right front....the crossmber broke and the right front lower control arms were damaged......luckily the rail didn't seem to suffer any deformation...the right rear tire blew and caused some damage inside the wheel opening....the exhaust probably got damaged by the transporters during the recovery process....the hood and fenders had some damage and scratches....it looked like it ran threw a chain link fence.....

decided to take the motor out to make it easier to swap the crossmember and also to allow measuring of the unibody on the cellette bench....

at this point the new crossmember and suspension are swapped in place of the damaged parts....everything is checked on the engine especially the turbos.....the last thing you need to find out is that you have a problem after you install the motor....

why not do a carbon fiber roof inlay if you will be doing the roof anyway?

Same thing for other parts - why not get upgraded hoods/wheels/shocks/etc if you are redoing them?

I assume you are going to sell them right? not hold on to them all forever!

I kinda thought about this myself when seeing this thread emerge. I'll let OP answer, but to me, standing in his shoes, cost would be one factor to consider, and target audience another.

While it may make sense for people like you or me, economically for the shop (and potential buyers) it may not be worthwhile to add a 2K CF roof. At the end of the day, no matter what you add to a car of this sort, it will be with a salvaged title, and majority of buyers will shy away from it on that principle alone. As some have mentioned, these would be perfectly tailored for a track car, stripped to the bones, perhaps not even street legal. The CF roof may appeal to folks like that, but then again if that is all you are targeting as a buyer base, it may be a long wait before the car sells to such set of hands, which once again goes back to the economics and bottom line.

Yeah I see what ur saying - might be cool to have a goal for each project based on damage -

- OEM
- OEM plus
- street legal/track
- track only

The you have the range

at the present moment i haven't considered selling any of these 1m's yet...it seems as though everything happened so fast with getting them that i haven't really thought of what their future will be....as far as doing mods...i like returning vehicles back to stock...i can't expect that everyone would agree with my taste in upgrades....also and most importantly is cost......it's very difficult to recoup money you've invested making something the way you like it....i think someone would prefer a stock vehicle as a start and then go from there...
