Unplugged the connector in the trunk to leave the exhaust actuator open. I want to see if I like it. Didn't feel like crawling under the car to fix it so I just unplugged it from behind the trunk panels.

No code on the dash and no code on my OBD 2 app "torque". Worst case I'll just plug it in eventually. Seemed cleaner than restricting the vac line to me. Also I didn't have to lay on the wet ground haha.
So far more grumble but not huge difference. It does add what was missing in terms of low speed exhaust sound. I like the mod for now. I have no warranty anyway, so its not like they are going to bitch if my wastegates fail and they notice that my exhaust flapper isn't flapping. |

41k miles or so. Yeah I know the turbos and HPFP are covered, but if either of those fail I'll just plug the thing back in. It took about 3 minutes taking my time haha.

Anyone know anything about audio? I know I have the base stereo, which is like winning an unlucky lottery. It sucks...BAD. It seems to be rare too, and I see why. No tweeters, 6" subs HOT GLUED into the 8" sub locations under the front seats. No amp at all. Its a nightmare. Music car wants like $1700 for the cheapest upgrade kit they have. I'm hoping to find someone who did it on their own, since I can't even think of spending that. I was hoping to spend like $400 on some speakers, but now I'm going to need an amp, speakers, some kind of converter box that is way over my head...its a mess. I'll probably be stuck with the system the way it is for a while, I can't really afford to upgrade it, but I'd love to have a plan in place for when the time comes. |

Yea I see people complain about drone a lot on these forums I too had a turbo back exhaust with only a muffler at the end if I remember right and didn't mind the drone too much only on long ass drives

Yeah this is nothing like that. If you want to literally not hear the exhaust with the windows DOWN leave it stock. If you want quiet grumbles when you are in a garage or tunnel going slow, then disable that flapper.
For me I couldn't stand having a fake muffler tip on the car lol. |
