Stay focused here, people. We are commiserating the unknowns regarding delivery dates, not pro athlete alternate lifestyle not out of the closet dates. I think.

^^^ You dehijacktivator!

I talked to my CA yesterday morning, and then in the afternoon I emailed him a reminder to not to put the front license plate frame on the car (So it is in writing). I'm not talking to him today, unless he calls me that my car's there.

I hope, for your sake and all of ours, that your car shows today, or soon. It will give the rest of us yet another vicarious thrill.

My SA continues to maintain no change to the "leave the VPC on 3/21, arrive at dealer 3/22" story, which doesn't make sense to me if others start going out this week. . . Mine arrived in the States shortly behind yours, and I am only about 4-5 hours from the SC VPC. Have you found these estimated dates to be accurate in the past?? All of my prior bimmers have been "off the lot" or dealer trades, so I have nothing to go on. If it doesn't hurry up and get here, so I can once again concentrate on work, I will have nothing to pay for it with! :eyebulge:

This was not the case with the e90 launch. People got their cars when they were supposed to, not had a rolling date, or varying dates from BMW Center to BMW Center.

For that launch, they held the cars at the dealerships, not the VPC. Obviously, BMW wants to keep stricter controls on things, possibly surrounding this test they are making the CAs and managers take. Seems foolish to do at quarter-end though, especially with bad January and February numbers.

All I know for sure is an E-Mail I received from the VPC that my appointment is for 3/27. I am flying up to Spartanburg on 3/26 at which time they send a car to pick you up at the airport and take you to the hotel.

That is all I know......

Crap. Dealer emailed me just now saying "ACCORDING TO BMW 1 SERIES IS DUE TO BE SHIPPED ANY DAY. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON WHEN YOUR CAR WILL BE HERE. TOMORROW IS STILL A POSSIBILITY."

Aargh.

Do the dealers know when it leaves the VPC, or is it just when the truck arrives that they see what is on it?

Mine says he will be able to tell when it leaves the VPC and is on the truck, heading my way.

I was told by my CA to expect to get my car in the "first part" of April. My car is on the NYKLines Phoenix Leader, and is due to arrive in Port Hueneme on 03-21. CA said it would take about 10 days to get from the port to VPC to them. We'll see...

My CA told me they were not delivering the cars early because it's unrealistic to expect all dealers to fallow the rules. so there just going to deliver the cars as close to the launch date as possible. seems like over kill fore a car that is going to have relatively small volume. I mean the new M3 launch seems to be way over shadowed by this little cheep entry level bimmer

They may be timing all of these to arrive to dealers around the same time. Since you are closer yours can leave the VPC later and still make it. Maybe...:iono:

They know what is coming to them via reports (DAR report, IIRC) When it leaves the VPC they are aware.

Larryn, I think we'll be on the same truck. Whenever you pick up yours remind my CA (Mohammad) that I'm overseas until 4/10, and I'll be there as fast as humanly possible after that. It's an AW/taupe with nothing but a sport package.

He was telling me I can pick up on the 14th, but seems to have backed off in the last couple of days.

I had a long conversation with my SA about when cars will be available.

It appears that they didn't really understand what BMW had intended to do. They now understand that even demo and dealer cars will not be arriving until sometime the week of 3/22.

I know that my car in fact shows up in the dealer inventory but nothing else can be done with it.

So I guess at this point I feel for all you guys that were promised earlier delivery dates....but alas it probably just isn't so.

Just got this from the dealer -

THE 1 SERIES ARE BEING RELEASED TODAY. YOUR MAY BE HERE SATURDAY, MORE LIKELY MONDAY OR TUESDAY. I WILL LET YOU KNOW AS I RECEIVE MORE DATA.

I grow weary of his Blackberry emails typed in all caps. Although I wouldn't mind it if it said YOUR CAR IS HERE.
