This chart is wrong. I posted a complete chart earlier somewhere on this site (and it's in mph).

My bad, I wasn't referring to you, you just got caught up in the cross fire. Google is a good alternative if you are already just playing around on the computer.

Not only are these numbers wrong, they are completely wrong. The error is not consistent from gear to gear so you must have multiple errors in your assumptions.

Gear ratios are 4.06, 2.40, 1.58, 1.19, 1.00, 0.87
Final drive is 3.08
revs per mile are 830 for a 245/35-18

This gives mph @1000 rpm of 5.8, 9.8, 14.9, 19.7, 23.5, 27.0
or km/h @1000 rpm of 9.3, 15.7, 23.8, 31.6, 37.6, 43.2

Not that any of this matters or is any way relevant to perfecting one's heel and toe ...

But are your figures "purely theoretical based on the feed values of the 135i final drive" like Professor's??? (I wonder how much I'll have to feed the final drive on my 128i to get 240 mph.)

I have no idea what that question even means.

But to put it another way R&T reports in the May issue the following speeds vs rpm, which are within 1% of my "theory"

1st 7000 rpm 41 mph
2nd 7000 rpm 69 mph
3rd 7000 rpm 105 mph
4th 7000 rpm 140 mph
5th 6300 rpm 150 mph
6th 5500 rpm 150 mph (which implies 191 mph at 7000 rpm)

My point exactly - a nonsense chart with gibberish for an explanation.
Your figures (and R&T's) are the correct ones.
