Feature I really wanted to see
I was under the impression that this exsisted...but it didnt. Its cool that you can open all windows/sunroof with the remote (really hot in texas and it really cools down car before you step in). However, you cant close all windows and roof with remote ?? On mercedes...you can close all windows with remote....
I was showing off to my friends the "open all windows feature" while I was in the 2nd floor of office building. Then I wanted to close it after the "trick" was over.....i couldnt....friends laughed at me as I waited for elevator and ran out to close my car.... Skimo |

So, we can use the remote for windows down, but you have to insert the key in the door for windows up?
I thought that most cars these days had the "anti-pinch" feature where the windows automatically stop if anything obstructs its path while closing. That should be enough to protect people objects when using an all windows up option. This reminds me of my previous VW Jetta that would do all windows down or all windows up, but required a key in the door to work. With this car, I thought the idea was to not have to use the traditional key. Michael

Rachel, I don't have any inside info, but it really sounds like something that would be possible, but I can see how it might be a legal issue.
My old VW would let me roll up the windows, but I had to have the key in the lock. That way you could hear the "screams" of anyone stuck in the window, and stop rolling them up. With a remote, you might not be close enough to hear the "screams". Seriously though, dogs, cats, etc. might get stuck (granted these people would be complete idiots) if it was available with the remote. And the same idiots that would do that are the same idiots that would sue BMW USA over their pet's (or child's) death. Soooo I wouldn't hold out unless there is a software update from an aftermarket tuner that will do this. |

I have the alarm and I can't figure out how to do it. Hold the unlock and it brings down all the windows/sunroof. Hold the BMW logo and nothing. Hold the trunk and the alarm/panic goes off. That's it. Anyone else know?

You can't do it with the remote in the US. You can do it with the traditional key by taking it out of the fob and using it to lock the car manually and holding it in the lock position until all windows and the sunroof are closed.
