I use the Dension ipod adapter. you can use all your steering wheel controls to use ipod, the install is easy and not expensive and it works flawlessly. Send VP Electricity a note @ MusicarNW.

This is MUCH cheaper the OEM adapter and coding...but you have to have fiberoptic headunit, which I would confirm with VP electricity but in a 2008 it should have been standard.

I was looking for this myself. This option offers the Bluetooth install. But to install the Bluetooth you need to put the USB set up in. Check it out.

To tell you the truth, I have the USB option and it's a pain in the butt. I even tried just music on a USB stick, same pain. It takes forever to scroll through the songs or playlists. I dumped my ipod setup and using Pandora on my Iphone, or Spotify. I know that does not help, but I was not very impressed on the ipod implementation.

I was able to order the factory 6FL kit from Patryk at BimmerTech. It will replace my aux only panel under the armrest with an aux + usb as if it was installed from the factory. Supposedly I can do the entire install myself with no coding necessary. The kit is on its way to me now, so if anyone is interested, I'll post my results.

Although I don't need that particular mod, I would be interested to hear how it works. Please post your results, and if you are up for it, a few photos of the install process.

Let us know how that turned out, I was hoping to do something similar in my new 1M.

How did this go? I am really interested. It would be the bee's knees if it worked out.
