Have you done any write ups on this anywhere else on this site? Do you have part #s, gotchas or anything like that? That install is one of the nicest I have seen so far.

This guy on a Spanish forum put a Mio728 in his...
http://www.bmwfaq.com/f24/acoplar-na...iginal-418791/ Shows you how to take apart the oem monitor. That is the only part you need along with a nav device that fits and you like. |

How can I remove the old storage tray?
Looks like the tray has 4 screws, and 2 of the screws cannot be reach unless the center air vent is removed first.
But how can I remove the center air vent? Many thanks. |

I don't know how to remove the storage tray but I think there is a DIY in that section about installing the storage unit. It should provide useful information for removing it.
I also learned something about Garmin traffic options since I last posted on this thread. I tried my antenna/power cord for my 760 on my 885t. I upgraded the 760 to lifetime. When I used this antenna with the 885t, it had the Clear Channel traffic signal. I did not have to do anything to the Nuvi except plug it in. I'm not sure what I will do when the MSN Direct runs out at the end of next year but this gives me another option. Jim

The Sony is really old, it was 4 years old when I had the 1 series back in 2009!!
It was an NU-92 or something like that. It was inside the oem nav housing, I am sure a Garmin would do the same job as well. Just buy an oem nav screen and take out the monitor. |

Why would you loose warranty? It is not connected to anything.
