I can't hear any difference at all. The $10 usb receiver that was powered by the usb port and plugged into the 3.5 aux jack sounded identical to my ears.

Set up was extremely easy. Just plug the usb stick into the usb port and the 3.5 audio wire into the aux audio port, pair and you are done.

It fit perfectly allowing the armrest to fully close.
Thanks for posting this. Ordered one. Hopefully it works alright. Looks like cleanest solution for playing music over bluetooth.

I have a small MP3 player velcro'd to the underside of the armrest with short cables to the lighter socket under there and the aux jack. I just curl my hand around the armrest and press the > or < button. I can't see what song is playing but that's OK.

Not visible from sitting in or outside the car. Works fer me!

Does anyone know how to activate shuffle "all songs" on the ipod?

Hi there! I was wondering about this kit you got from ebay! I have the same problem with my recent 135i I just purchased. I picked up the 09 135i and my car has the steering wheel controls for the phone and as well the buttons on the dash. BUT I cant pair up my iphone5 with the car , so I called the bmw dealership and they said I have the wiring and its ready to go but have to hook up. So I was thinking of the samething you did and buy a adapter and I was wondering if this worked out for you?

I should be able to pair the phone to this receiver for audio and the car for calls. It should work seamlessly since my Android phone pauses music when a call comes in anyway. I will let you know when I get it

Hi - could you explain this setup a little more? What format is the USB (FAT32?), where is it plugged in (glove compartment?) and what option do you find it listed under (Music Collection?)

I just picked up a 2012 135i with Navigation and I'm trying to understand how to get the car to recognize the USB.

To further clarify, I can see it to import songs - but what I am trying to do is just leave the thumb drive in all the time and play directly from it, not import the songs and then play. Maybe this isn't even possible?

Appreciate any help...thanks...

Yes, needs to be formatted FAT32. It's plugged in under the armrest (for me, I don't know if all cars have it).

I forget how it shows up but I do know that it will be pretty obvious when you have it working. On my iDrive setup I believe I hit CD and it's on the next screen.

I use aux, which blows imo. Too many cables when I have my iPod plugged in aux and charging. Hoping to replace my deck soon so I can have iPod control and have it charging in the glove box at all times.
