Hmm.. I never really understood why people got any type of splitters.. I understand the lip spoiler but a splitter?

But these ones are decent verses the bmw ones I must say but because I dont understand the functionality of it I cant comment on any performance increases but if its for looks then not my cup of tea... not just yours all splitters.

downforce... not that this one creates much if any

Looks to me all you did was take the black plastic "flaps" that usually point downwards under the front bumper and pushed them so they point forwards...

The idea is that as air hits the front of the car it will go in all directions, the splitter catches the air going down and prevents it from going under the car and lifting the front up. At the same time the air hitting the splitter pushes the car down increasing front end grip.

There's an episode of Top Gear where they take part in a 24h race and at some point they loose their front splitter, this had a great impact on lap times.
