Do you polish with...

one of those automatic machines? Or do you just do it by hand? Is there any reasons not to use the machine?

I've only polished by hand, although I was reprimanded by the dealer for polishing as it removes the paint protection... but how else to remove swirl marks?

but doesn't the dealer applied paint protection prevent all swirl marks with its magical aura of nanobeans created from the sweat of norwegian virgins?

Machine....although there is nothing automatic about machine polishing. You just get more correction more quickly, which is needed for BMW's hard paint.

Interesting! I thought more people might be using hand. I have only ever done by hand, because I had some idea in my head that using a machine is lazy, and lazy things can never be better than the hard way!

It's not the only way, just the quicker way.
