Q re: tint

Can anyone tell me, is the tint on the windows applied to the inside or outside surface?

Reason being is I have collected a fine scratch on the rear drivers side window and was wondering if it could be removed by redoing the tint on that piece of glass, or if the glass itself is scratched and I'm f*~ked and have to live with it.

cheers in advance

Matt.

Tint is on the inside, I believe.

Check your insurance policy - you may be entitled to a new window under their "glass replacement" clause. Some policies offer one per year without impacting your NCB or premium.

If it's really fine, you may be able to get it polished out by a glass / mirror specialist - i had this done some years back - good result.

Deffinately on the inside... I also have had a fine scratch polished out by a glass specialist and it was unnoticable.

Inside. I'm pretty sure it's the tint that would be scratched rather than the outside glass!

i seen places tint on the outside and others on the inside. so should consult the person who applied your tint for you.

Tint is always applied to the inside, anyone who does otherwise shouldn't be tinting!
