No worries. I would meet you up there this weekend but my rear tires are too low for the track. I have a set of Michelin PSS's that have been heat cycled on the way. Once those get here it's on!!!!

Work schedule changed ( I was supposed to work tomorrow) if you guys want to hit the ring Sunday I could swing that even though my rears are a little low, I'll just leave DTC on for once. I would do tomorrow but there's no way ramstein has any rooms available for tonight.

How about we try to stay at Sabine's mom place. I think it's called Am Tiergarten, less than a mile and a half from the ring, inside the town of Nurburg. Just down the street from the //M Test Center. Now there is a photo we have to make while we are there!


What all does everyone think? ???

Yup, that is Sabine's mom place but you might have to call in advance since she is always booked up. Also, while there, you can get these...



The 2 on the bottom of the "STR" you can get for free from her hotel. The STR is an image I got from Michael Frison, the owner of "Save The Ring.org" . The STR si the one most VLN racers use on their cars.

This weekend is the AVD Old Timer race at the 'Ring. I am having a hard time finding a hotel around the 'Ring. I think we will need to stay somewhere outside of this area. I am still working on it though!

Well I have a little surprise for everyone attending the trip, I have locked us into a tour of Manhart Racing GmbH and I told them we want to see that 465hp 1M, really that was code for I am gonna race your 1M

I will be up there with a buddy or two. We will be commuting from Stuttgart, probly gonna get there early afternoon on Saturday. The wife works Friday, and I doubt she would want to drive up to stay the night.

Elsabor, I saw your car in the PX Parking lot yesterday, very clean. If you go up on Saturday, let me know, we can convoy.

Ok, I have that weekend off too! But I am having a hell of a time finding an hotel for all of us to stay at! This weekend there is a HUGE oldtimer (classic car) vintage race going on at the Ring. But in the late afternoon the track is open for tourist driving.

I'll be at the NCO Academy up in Kapaun for 6 weeks but I'll try to come home that weekend to celebrate. If you guys have to, staying on base is not a bad option. Not sure the exact number to the Spangdahlem hotel but you can call 452-1110 and ask for the number. I guess I can stop being lazy and get the number myself if you guys are interested. Also, there is some kind of car show here this weekend.

Thanks Oreo. I was even thinking if there was a nice German Gast Haus we could "invade" maybe in the Wittlich area? Where is our local guide Wade at???

Manhart Racing GmbH is way up to the North of the Ring. I have been looking more up in that area for a hotel with say ten (free) rooms. ?

We had our Christmas party there and it is RIGHT NEXT to a little amusement park so you can all go after the ring (or before depending on the time). Nothing huge. There is a restaurant in the hotel that is very good too. Its about 10 minutes from the Autobahn and Spangdahlem. 15-20 minutes from the Wittlich go-cart track. This is the only place I can think of around here. Wade might know of something in Wittlich. This place is between Bitburg and Spangdahlem.

I'll check some of the places around here and on the way to the ring to see whats available with decent rates and good parking. How many would be staying and how many nights?
