it appears that you have updated the weights of these on your site, and it appears that the breytons are weigh less and are less expensive, so hmm.

This is true. It's going to come down to personal choice for the buyer.

Is this wheel strong enough for using slicks on track. I think 8.5j x 17 would be nice track wheels.

I have a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 225/45/17. Will these tires work well with these wheels (the 17X8) on my 135i? I prefer a "square" (i.e. non-staggered) set up. Thanks.

Here's a quick note on the color program on these wheels. Call, email, or PM me directly with any questions. 17" wheels (Anthracite) are in stock now. 18" are expected at the end of the month.

Is the 40mm offset confirmed for the 18x9? From what I'm reading that's not a good fit for this car. Any chance of something better coming along soon?

I keep checking your site hoping for a good stagger setup to come along. I'm so disappointed with what's available right now. I'd like something in black but the GTS-R has that damn ring on it. Unless some CSL's come along soon I might have to by those and have them painted. If the wheels are $300 or less the color doesn't matter as much to me as I'll have them powdercoated, but they got to have the right offset first.

I'd be very interested in seeing 18" Antracites installed.
If anyone buys orange, the 1Addicts Black Ops are reclaiming the car.

Yeah, that offset is correct. It's really going to limit rear tire sizing in the staggered set up.

I have ordered one set in 8.5J x 17 ET 40 for my 130i race car. The tires will be michelin slick 240/61/17.

I make some pics when they arrive.

I was thinking of getting a set as track wheels.

Anyway, what would be the max tire size for the rear, 18x9 et 40?

I guess it depends on tyre (tire ) selection.
I run this combination with an 8" front and 9" rear with no rubbing what so ever.

Blacky, do you have any pictures? From the numbers it seems this setup should stick out about as far as the CSL reps, which is not a look I like. I'm considering the stock tire size which I assume won't rub, but it's still a matter of appearance.

I'm going to do my best to thrash the stock RFT's this summer so I'll have a good excuse for a new set. I can't justify throwing away a perfectly good set of tires.

I those wheels BTW.

Mine is a 130 5 door, but there is a car on the forum (red) OZ 8" and 9".
I will see if I can find and post link.

Here you go, not a good photo though;

He's running 8" all around. I'm interested in seeing how the 9" rears fit and whether they are completely inside the fender. I would think your car's rear fender would be the same as mine.

If a 40mm offset 9" rim fits good, I'm going to be very happy. OZ makes some great looking wheels.

Here is mine with an 18x9" ET 45 and a 255/35/18 on it. The OZ will stick out 5mm further.

Yes, they would fit. Like any 8.5" wheel, they'll be a bit aggressive for the front.

Looks good - what width tires are you running in the back?

I was conservative with the tyre choice seeing as at the time no one could tell me if the rims and offset would fit without rubbing, plus I was coming for the old 130 with 225's on the rear.
So I chose 225 F and 245 R on 18s, I think you could possibly get 255 on the rear.

As I have mentioned somewhere else (I am no expert) and I am sure Gill could confirm for me. There is not a lot of difference if you run 8" or 9" on the rear if the ET's and tyre widths are the same. If I am correct, the ET is offset from the centre line of the rim and hence if the tyre width is the same on the two rim widths then they are in a similar position to the centre line of rim (other than the shape of the tyre due to rim width).
Gill, do you want to comment?
