White Film on Windows

There's a white film that appears on my driver and passenger side widows
after I roll them down. It's been happening since I bought the car last
August. It dries into hardened streaks, but wipes off easily with a damp
towel. The width of the streaks in the pic is about 4". It's fairly random
on how wide they are and where they show up.

Anyone know what this could be?

It's from the rubber weatherseals in the doors... The window rubs against the glass like a squeegee as it goes up and down.

I suppose if you lowered the window all the way down and wiped those seals to clean them, the white film might disappear or be less severe.

+1 ^

I get the same thing every time I wash the car. I've tried cleaning the weatherseals but it really doesn't help much. I think over time the soft felt type of material wears and this is the result. I would like to see if new seals would correct this but they're about $56 each and I have lots of glass cleaner and microfiber towels.

Thanks for the posts guys, guess I'm not the only one. Thought it might be a Guam humidity thing. I'll try cleaning out the seals, but I think it's coming from inside the door panel protective film.

It happens anytime you lower the windows when they're wet.

Yeah, it doesn't.

This relatively small problem is very frustrating. I have Invisible Glass Cleaner and a towel in my car all the time now.

My car does that same thing, it's just from the window seals. I've made a habit of rolling the windows up and down and wiping them off after washing the car.
