Bye bye 135...hello 2015 335i

My 2008 135i is gone on to somebody else! 6 years and 80,000km of great fun. I really liked my 135 and it served me well. Tons of power (lost drag races to only seriously fast cars...Gallardo, C63, ZR-1) and lots of fun to drive. I made many trips up to my place at Whistler mountain and that car was really fun on that road...did great in the winter months too. The suspension could have been a bit tighter but that was my only complaint. No HPFI failure but BMW did change mine out during a service to the newer version. My electronic water pump did fail and it was not cheap to fix. Besides that it was a great car!

With my kids growing up into teenagers...I seem to be driving more and more of them around...it was time for a 4 door. Now I have a 2015 335i. 8 spd auto, RWD, M package (M brakes, M suspension and variable sport steering), M performance power package (more boost adds 35hp/32lbs) and the M performance exhaust. The suspension is really good. Very solid on the road and much tighter then the 135. Steering is not bad. In comfort mode the steering is too light. In sport mode the steering has much better weight but feedback is mediocre. Having said that I haven't been really running it too hard during break in. I miss the manual 6 spd but the 8 spd is really good. Lots of different shift modes. Smooth and quick. The power pack adds extra exhaust burbles and burps when shifting. The M exhaust sounds really good. Aggressive bark on start up, no drone yet a nice fairly loud sound. I have had many comments on the sound in 2 weeks. The interior is a nice upgrade with all sorts of new gadgets to figure out. Newer idrive works really well and the iphone integration keeps improving.

Great advice and community here on 1 addicts. Thanks for all the input and responses over those 6 years!!! Now I am moving on to F30 post.
