Jack Question
For the time being I’m on factory Msport suspension in my 2011 135 (recently purchased) and looking at floor jacks… there are some pretty extended low profile jacks and not sure even one of those would get to the center Jack points without help…. So what’s everyone using?
Considering a standard low profile and maybe some Megan ramps? ECS sells a schwaben long reach jack… |

I use Megan ramps and then a Harbor Freight 3 ton jack and have had no issues. I'm lowered on Bilstein coilovers.

I recently bought a Quickjack from Costco. Should have bought it years ago. The thing is awesome.

I've really been thinking about picking one of these up. I am about to do the twins on my 535xi and I think this would be a more secure way to do this rather than on jack stands extended to their full height. Thoughts?

Yea I can see a quick jack setup in my future but after the purchase of the car I’ll have to stay basic for a bit! Lol
Glad to see Megan ramps and basic jack work. And you can get to the center Jack point? |

I just use a jack to raise the car a bit using one of the plastic jack points along the frame of the car under the door to provide he necessary clearance to get another jack under the car to raise the car the rest of the away using the center jack point.
Never had a problem doing it this way. |

Lol this may be my method, however with cost of wood, ramps aren’t much more $$ lol

I have a set of homemade wood ramps, but I generally just jack one side up, slide the ramp under the tire, and then use my Harbor Freight Long Reach-Low Profile jack to get back to the center jack point.
If you're just jacking up the rear, you can reach the rear diff just fine with the jack stand above. |

I would 110% recommend the quickjack for this job or anything under the car. I did my turbo replacement on jackstands and hated every second of it. I used 6 ton stands so it was up pretty high but nowhere near as high as the quickjack. I bought the 7000TL from Costco which has a higher lift.

I bought this one from Canadian Tire in Canada, it just fits and reaches the center lift point easily.

I cut a 2" x 10" x 8' piece of lumber into 4 pieces and drive my car up onto those, then I can slide my low profile jack to the front center life point or rear diff easily.

I have low profile race ramps that I roll the front on. They’re just tall enough to allow me to get my 3 ton Jack in to the front center Jack point. (yellow harbor freight Jack, the snap on knockoff) and this works great. I use 6-ton Jack stand due to their much taller height and they’re not even on their highest setting due to maxing out my Jack at the height they’re at.

Does anyone know if the EXT models of QuickJack fit the 1 series? I have the 5000TLX model that I use for my E46 and E61 and I found a 135i m sport that I’m going to look at this weekend and I’m curious if my QuickJack will be too long for the wheelbase.
