a little OT, but what is the difference in structural rigidity between the single layer and double layer carbon fiber products?

Waiting for the "anti-///M badge on a car that wasn't a factory ///M" crowd to begin howling...

Is this the same "dry" carbon fiber that the replacement sunroof was made out of?

This is not dry carbon like the other products.

Single sided dry carbon will have a thin layer of fiberglass for strength opposed to double sided with is carbon front and back 100%

Can you post the installation instructions or a DIY so we can guage how hard it is to install? Also, what is the weight difference from OEM? I assume this is just the shell and customers will have to transfer over all the latchwork, the wiring, pneumatic assist etc, correct?

Let me try and get a stock trunk to weigh.

This trunk is going to be lighter but it's more cosmetic if true weight savings are what your looking for your going to want a dry carbon trunk which is in the works.

oh okay lol well why does it say "much lighter than stock"

Has this been test fitted unlike the splitters ???

im not sure if its the pics but is this really "perfect fitment" because it looks like there is no gap at the top of the left side of the trunk but then looks like theres a big gap on the right

Yes they are test fitted the trunk is installed in the picture all trunks and hoods need to be adjusted even oem parts. It is much lighter than oem I was comparing this trunk to a dry carbon trunk

Couldnt find any info about weight on their site either... Would be interested if the weight is seriusly redused on the trunk and hood. The one is too heavy!
