My guess? He bought the car to, you know, drive it and stuff. It's nice to see an owner that doesn't labor under the delusion that the 1 M Coupe is a collectible car. Granted, that delusion, for most, will persist right up until the M2 comes out.

From the pic here and a few I've seen of him with his Ariel Atom, he looks like he can't be over 18 years old. Lucky guy indeed. Congrats. |

Congrats OP. a small few will understand and appreciate the long journey. Although I have never done what you did with regards to purchasing your 1M I took my E90 M3 for a road trip from MA to SC just for a wedding last year. It's not a DD and that's a one way 800+ mile drive by myself driving. Could I of bought a plane ticket and saved 2000 miles on my car, almost 0 sleep and the hardships I95 can do to a car. Absolutely. But driving is a pleasure and when you do it a car like a 1M or an M3 it makes you appreciate the true abilities these cars have. Yes it's pretty good on the track. But to drive such a long distance and never get a back ache or feel like it unreliable or the car is too important to you to drive. It's a car. Whether a Ferrari, Zonda, or a BMW. They are meant to be driven. Now we just need to work on the speed limits in US for us car freaks!'
Congrats OP. enjoy. |

Congrats, next time trak tape. The tape peeling like that and flapping in the wind especially with gravel/sand or debris stuck to it will damage the finish.

I live south of you and I just did a mini version of what you did. I just picked up my 135i from Burbank CA and drove back to Florence AZ. I need a BMW friend around here.
