2009 BMW 128i  [9.80]
My driver side mirror cap is loose

My driver side mirror cap (front side of mirror) is loose. I noticed this while I was cleaning my car today, and I am afraid this thing will fall off my car. How are these secured? is it glue or are there clips? I want to fix this asap!

Take it of by just puling it to the front of the car. There you will see 4 clips one of them might not sit in the place (had the same case). It is a bit difficult to put the clips in to their place. Maybe removing mirror glass will help.

The best way is by using some kind of suction cup with a ring that you can pull on. That way, you can pull from the center of the glass rather than trying to pry the edges, which can cause flexing and breaking.
