Headlight install (Depos)

I got a set of DEPO projectors, these are direct housing replacements, no need to do HIDS, no need to re code. everything in the electrical sense is identical. Since I couldnt find a HOW to on the headlight swap, I thought i'd put one up.

first remove the front bumper (this is only tricky in one spot) it's well covered in this thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224260&

after the bumper is off, take the brackets underneath the headlights, they have two torx(t30) towards the middle of the car,

a torx(t30) through the hole here

and then the 10mm screw under the edge here

they take a little bit of wiggling, but they come out enough with that bracket loose to take the other top fasteners off and one more on the inner edge (another t30) and it's out!

swap over the bulbs (I would actually recommend while theyre out changing in new bulbs because doing it while theyre in the car is a bit of a pain) and reinstall everything.

now you have awesome headlights like me.

Thanks for the write-up. How long would you say it took you to install both and get the bumper back on?

took me probably 2.5hrs.

it took me about 20 mins to find all the fasteners for the support piece. also another hangup is those tabs on the sides of the bumper, I used a credit card to dig them out, it should be done with a body tool.

hows the beam pattern with the halogens in there? I opted for HID's for the look and for added brightness.

its the same patern, just wont be as bright. im thinking of getting some whiter colored bulbs(6k), but I dont feel I need HIDs, seems just more to go wrong.

Have you washed the car or had rain that caused condensation in the headlights? Is there anything that you did in the install process to minimize the chances of this? Thanks. Looks great!

the headlights should be well sealed, ive washed the car twice since the install, no condensation. they were on the previous owners car for a year with no issues

Did they come properly sealed from the factory or did you do something to seal them better?

like i said, i bought them second hand, i would assume they were like this from the factory.

if youre having trouble with yours, contact the company you purchased them from, im sure they can help you out.

nope, it's HID time, installing this week. even with very bright halogen bulbs it isnt enough light.
