I think one of the issues is that the seat is very narrow to begin with so I'm restricting myself on mounting locations.
No need for pictures for me, just passing along what helped with the seating position in my E36 M3. It sounds like you're at the limits of any off the shelf product so custom floor mounts may be needed for the best result which is not uncommon.

Yea, it seems like this would be the solution

http://europeanautosource.com/macht-...ent-shims.html

Or I can just custom shim it myself with some washers, the bolt is fairly long.

Those would work if your seat is so skinny that you have space left on the VAC mounts on the tunnel side. My seat in the M3 is a Pro ADV and I have it mounted so the front right corner is basically touching the tunnel and can't for more towards center unless I break out a sledgehammer.

Yea, I'm on the left most outer hole on the VAC Inner Mount, so it does have room to shift over.

Does loosing the recline setting hinder Daily driving?

Is that the Msport knob with BMW SSK?
If so, thats exactly how my SSK n54 stick sits. Pretty cool, I thought only my experiment resulted in that look when in a gear

No, I like that particular driving position and actually think these seats are better fitting than OEM sports.

Yes, that is MSport w/BMW SSK

Yeah, i am going to install the SS headers and remove the runflat tires. After I'll do another weight.

On my mini Gp I am a weight freak! I even removed the AC! The car. Has of now 2510 pounds. I do have a roll bar,no back seats, wheels oz ultraleggera 17inch also the heavy recaro sporters! But on the seats I went looks over stats!

Hey Stig,
I appreciate all your posts except rolling up to a truck scale. You could also try the smaller scales at the local dump where they can net out your body weight which may be more accurate as they go per kg.

The best thing is to use corner weight scales, we need them for racing.
You get front rear bias as well as side to side. When full of fuel and fluid you want the front left to be approx 1/3 of your body weight lighter than the front right. When you sit in the car your body weight affects all 4 corners, but has a bias to the front left.

You guys are correct, the 328i is a bit of a pig in knickers. Even stripped out, I'm still tipping the scales at 3271 lbs.

It was just a fast and dirty weighing. I had the opportunity to get on a corner balance scale when I was dynoing, but they wanted $80 for it and I just don't care that much.

Been away for a while and missed this thread. I happened to have my 128i weighed at a public scale a few months ago, in preparation of a cross-country tow (if you just Google "public scale" you'll find they're all over the place - often at dumps, as mentioned - I found one at a recycling center about 1/2 mile from where I was living at the time).

Anyway, the guys didn't charge me, so I didn't gets print out, but the car came in at #3120 at 5/8 of a tank. Keep in mind, these scales seem to round a little (perhaps in increments of #5?) and that I had a car seat in the back, plus some autocross stuff, tools, and a floor jack in the trunk. Given all that, I think #3100 is a reasonable number to assume, when the car is "stripped" for autocross or track days.

Car is a 6MT slick-top with manual sport seats, BMW PE, and 17" Apex ARC-8's.

KGolf, you've ally been making great strides in your STX prep - car looks great!
