New P3 gauge look alike from ramp speed
Did anyone got an email from ramp speed this morning.
I like the interface how it shows everything unlike the p3 gauge but man look a the price and there isn't that much feature for the price! Dear Friends & Car Enthusiasts, Introducing the latest addition to RamSpeed's product portfolio - performance data display for BMW 1 Series and 3 Series. The Data Display can be controlled via your existing steering wheel buttons and is available in Standard and Pro versions. Standard Version: $1395 incl GST Pro Version: $1695 incl GST BMW M3: $1925 incl GST Plus local installation approx 1.5hrs The Standard Version displays the following data: - Torque (135i and 335i are only available with the professional version) - Cooling water temperature - Oil temperature (on gas engines this works out of the box, only on diesel engines, there is no stock sensor, we supply an external oil temperature sensor for diesel BMWs which replaces the original oil drain screw) - On diesel engines, an optional soot particulate filter diagnostic option is available for $99 - Voltage - Speed - Acceleration data (0-100 / 0-200 km/h) - Boost / charge-air pressure (135i, 335i and diesel engines only) The Professional Version displays even more features: - Acceleration force and lateral acceleration - Engine power / performance (PS / HP) - Performance and torque diagram The display is supplied with the complete air vent unit so it can be replaced 1:1, everything (style and look) is perfectly integrated to your interior. Easy plug and play installation and connection |

I can't justify this for the price, and I need my aircon anyway. Plus, it seems to do everything the P3 can already do. I already said this to another member, for exactly the same money you could buy an Electronic Performance steering wheel and an iPad.

Manhart Racing uses those. We saw them in a few of the cars there, like that e46CL with the e60 V10 motor. These gauges are cool, but yea... the price!

I hate how Ramspeed are promoting bits as if they are manufactured by them, i.e. the Ramspeed Forged Wheels which are made by BC Racing in Taiwan WTF.

Well, get a Solo DL - $700 and you have everything (including your AC) and logged with GPS data. The display certainly looks good, but it is just a gauge after all.

Manhart does not make it either. They just sell them. I forget the German company name that makes them. I saw a thread on the 1er forum awhile back on this gauge. Its way over priced though.
Yea... there is also that iPhone app. You plug in a small WiFi (or maybe its BlueTooth?)plug into your OBD-II port and your iPhone connects with it and you can display all the OBD-II data and even read codes on the fly. Pretty cool. But it was also a few hundred I think. The one I remember is this KiWi one... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268104 These might be of interest too... http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/04/g...port-with-the/ http://devtoaster.com/products/rev/ http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rev/id302420711?mt=8
