Orion v2 Predators

Hey all,

I am a relatively new 135i owner, and have been doing quite a bit of googling on angel eye options. At first I didn't even know that they could be changed, but after lots of searching I found a vast array of options out there. The one I haven't seen e82 owners do(and it surprises me) is a DIY on the Orion v2's. I have found several people who own other BMW models who have done this themselves. Is there a reason why I haven't seen 1er's do this, or is it just from fear of damaging the unit? I know that OSS designs offers this upgrade as a service, and an install service is also offered with the Orions as well. I feel like this installation is fairly straight forward, as long as you've got a steady hand. Has anyone actually done this, or is there an issue with our cars that I've not found? I've used the search bar on the forum to no avail.

IIRC the impediment is getting the lenses off. Oven and heatgun tricks aren't enough.

It's a serious PITA on the e8x. E92 headlights literally can be baked open, et voila. These have to be cut, then carefully re-sealed. I've looked into it extensively and it's a $1-1.2K proposition to have done right. OSS, BavX, ONEighty, and Lightwerkz are some of the more reputable vendors doing it. It's on the to do list lol.

Any plug and play angel eyes can be a DIY. It can be time consuming on an e82 chassis but with patience it can be done easily.
Watch a few installation videos on Youtube and you can make the call if it is something you would like to do yourself.

I guess that would make sense if they can't be opened from your typical baking or heat gun use. What a bummer!
