Anyone ever replace a crank pulley?

I just got a weird noise that almost sounded like a loose pulley or belt and ended up having to order a crank pulley.

I read that using launch control alot or aggressive shifting and launching could do it.

You mean an idler pulley? Belt tensioner? I did mine twice over the life of my departed M52 E36.
