question about 135i sport package

Hey everyone! I test drove a 135i the other day and it was equipped with the sport package. The sales manager said the suspension is tuned different, yet the BMWUSA.com site doesn't mention anything about it. I like the way the car drives and if the suspension is the same between base and sport, i dont want to spend the extra money on the sport. Thank you!

In Canada we also get heated seats, 261M sport wheels, the M Sport door sills and anthracite headliner....but we also pay $8k more.

The seats and steering wheel are the big draws for the sport package.

It's well worth the $1k IMO. The seats are a lot better, more supportive. It's the one "must have" option on the car I think.

Plus you get an increased speed limiter set to 155 instead of 135. IMHO you should get the sport package, absolutley.

thanks guys for the responses!...i remember the side bolsters holding me very well, but my worry is i love to eat and drink them green bottles(green tea):drinking:and man, if the day came i got bigger, it would not be comfortable at all haha. as it is right now, i fit perfectly in there; snug. Sport seats is not something i really opt for, my main thing was the suspension since i loved how it handled and rode. i figured the base seats would be more comfortable, no? the car i test drove was an auto, but im looking at getting a manual. just something weird about driving a sports car without a clutch. maybe its just me. as for the limiter goes, cops on maui are really really cracking down on speed and i just can't get arrested again for speeding and lose my license. plus the v3 will take away the speed limiter anyways. again, thanks for all your responses and opinions!!!

I will be in Maui in October! The west Maui circle would be a real trip in a good car. I drove it in a bad rental Ford Explorer a few years ago.

We might do Hana this trip, still deciding....

135i already has the M-tuned sport suspension. The main difference is the seats and steering wheel.

IMO, the seats alone are worth the price. The standard seats are utter crap, but the sport seats are phenomenal.

Hey Maui86,

I lived in Maui for a few years on Keawakapu Beach, which I am certain you know about. When a south swell comes, "sidewalks" has some awesome waves, located midpoint between the two crescent sections of the beach. If you surf, and if you haven't tried this spot, check it out next time there is a south swell. You won't be disappointed.

The Maui speed limits, limited roads, and tourist traffic make highly spirited driving a rare event, as you know. I learned that the standard seats are lacking during hard driving, but are otherwise quite comfortable. If you can afford the $1K, get the Sport package anyway. But, if you don't get it you will be OK driving in Maui.

You are blessed to be there. I miss it terribly at times, so I visit frequently.

Best personal regards.

He's in Hawaii. Rarely if ever reach triple digit speeds, unless you're running from the Dog.

And even then only on the central Maui highway (I hit 140 mph in a rental F355). :headbang:
