Oh, and I realize I don't have the "rear fogs enabled" mod, but I have done a few mods for the track, like AMS FMIC, AST Coilovers, Swift Springs, camber plates, Wavetrac LSD, M3 suspension, powerflex bushings, AFE intake, aftermarket oil cooler, Brembo GT's, stainless lines, Megan toe links, track wheels, etc. But sadly, no badge delete Last edited by uberschnell; 03-04-2013 at 11:37 PM.. |

APEX makes an excellent product for the money and stands behind it. You will never find me saying anything disparaging about them. My only gripe with them is that they don't make a good 17" for the 1 series. But given the nature of market and 135i owners, I doubt they would sell many. Some random Googling: "Forgestar wheel failure" https://www.google.com/search?q=forg...hrome&ie=UTF-8 "BBS wheel failure" https://www.google.com/search?q=bbs+...hrome&ie=UTF-8 "Neez wheel failure" https://www.google.com/search?q=neez...hrome&ie=UTF-8 Just a cursory look has lots of problems with Forgestar wheels(and their customer service), some replica BBS wheels failing(no surprise there), and nothing for Neez. It really looks like Forgestar is on the same level.

So Gee, $8000 wheels are better then $1200 wheels? Bravo Einstein. Bottom line, Forgestar makes good wheels for the money and they will stand up to weekend track use and daily driving. Oh, and a pothole big enough to fuck up a cast wheel will likely damage a forged wheel. Now, if you have something better then a couple of random links to prove your point, that forgestar wheels suck, bring it on. Last edited by uberschnell; 03-04-2013 at 11:02 PM.. |

Yeah, they are $1200 wheels. That doesn't mean that they need to be complete garbage. APEX is the same price point and they have no problems I've heard of. Next you are going to tell me how great DForce wheels are.

There's no constant horror stories of catostrophic wheel failure. Yes, ordering issues, lead times and customer service, but quite the opposite in terms of quality. Here's some qoutes I found as I searched, which were far more the norm the any discussion of failure: "Forgestars, great quality and made in the USA" "Cant speak for AMR, but Forgestars are absolutely top quality" "Take into consideration all of the Porsche fanatics who are placing these wheels on their $90,000 cars" "Gomez and I have them on our track car with only track miles and they have worked flawless I hit some debris on the freeway at 70 mph and dented the rim but still held air. I was so happy with the quality I bought 2 more sets! Gomez even got airborne on the and hit a high curb at high speed and they are perfect" "I had these wheels for 2 years on my track car with no issues" Also, take into consideration how many more forgestars there are out there the ARC-8's. So your comparison based on search findings is that much weaker. Whatever, you seem to know it all based on "Internet" research. |

4000 track miles in there, if you think they're relevant.

My only issue with Forgestar is with the finish - it didn't hold up well and they discontinued the color so the only option to fix it is powder coating all 4 wheels if I want to keep them. It's the slimey vendor who sold them to me that was the worse problem, but I think I told that story long ago. The big problem with our cars is that BMW chose such a screwball set of offsets. If they had just made them 3 series size we'd have a huge range of choices.
