so how do you install the performance pedal foot rest when you already have the m-sport foot rest? does the m-sport foot rest just pop out?

Well i am retro-fitting the m dead pedal on my 135 which came with the typical plastic dead pedal. from what i can tell the entire dead pedal it should just pop out

I think the m dead pedal looks great with the perf pedals though..

Picked the pedals up today, installing tomorrow. Seems like a very simple mod. Leaving my m dead pedal, looks great that way.

Installed them. Thanks for the great DIY. It would be helpful if it said you need the T15 screw bit in the first post. The project took about an hour from start to finish but my buddy and I weren't operating at maximum efficiency. Anyway, here are some more pics.

This is how i attached the accelerator.

Then when i was trying to line up holes on the pedals.. i used a lantern as a backlight to make sure my holes were lined up....

i believe i only used 2 nuts for the back of the accelerator instead of 4 and 3 out of 4 nuts on my clutch.. the screws fit in pretty tightly and i'm 101% sure these pedals are NOT going to come off lol. i even TRIED to make the pedals come off just for some peace of mind and the screws held nicely.

as for my dead pedal i just screwed it in directly to the old dead pedal spot (after drilling of course).

^^ Did you have to remove the stock dead pedal (cover) in order to drill the M dead pedal in? Im not sure cuz I have the //M sport dead pedal in mine, guessing I have to just pop that out, but will I have the orig. stock rubber pedal underneath or what? I have the same pedals you installed but Auto. Im ready to install mine I just need a good clamp or two like urs and a friggin charged battery on my cordless drill (been down in the basement for a while..)

Any further tips on doin the dead pedal im all ears, is it really impossible to fit a drill in there to get the top two screws for the M pedal like you have?

And also, I need to be sure I have the correct screws to install my M Power pedals. I have 8 of those same size small torx machine screws with washers and nuts and then I have 4 phillips head screws that im assuming are for the dead pedal.

The machine screws look like they may be too long for the accel pedal, will I run into a problem with that, as in the screws stopping the pedal from going all the way down?

Also, did you use the washers supplied in front of each nut you used or did you not use them at all?

I have the M-sport steering wheel (and I guess the pedals and shift knob are included).

I'm interested in the pedals - however it's a lease car and of course I can't start drilling holes. All possible modifications I make to this vehicle should be easily undone without any visible damage...

Can you easily remove the pedals and put the original rubber ones back in place without visible damage (covering up the screw holes?)

Or how do the M-pedals look like? Maybe it's already a good view.

If you get the Stainless Steel pedals, then you won't have to drill. They slip on / replace.

But if you want to put on the Aluminum pedals, I'd just do it and turn it in with the car. You are talking $140 with the dead pedal - about two tanks of race fuel.

Fuck that, i just drilled the M alloy dead pedal onto the stock msport pedal, looks perfectly kickass, and it also pushed the pedal a little towards me which is good cuz i thought orig the dead pedal felt a little far away from me versus the other pedals.

Well done and looks great!!

I got mine installed too over the weekend too... I thought this was a difficult task and stopped by the local BMW dealership to have them perform the installation.. These guys quoted my around $325 for the installation

.. I was very furious and almost told the guy I wasn't born yesterday

... Ended up getting everything installed on my own and it did not take me more than a hour... Emailed the Service Manager at this local dealership about my experience over the weekend and still waiting for a reply

Mine came with one fellow procede-r...but its long gone. Wonder if BMW can hook it up.

I created another thread in the cosmetic modifications sub-forum with my afterthoughts of an aftermarket set of aluminium pedals which were great quality without the high cost associated with OEM performance pedals. In some ways I prefer the look as there are no labels/advertisements on these pedals like other models.
