You will be sorry if you don't get Comfort Access and I-Drive. I also think that the Popler wood trim is nicer than the darker.

Maybe it was the difference between and old Honda and an old BMW. Old Hondas are cheaper to maintain...

I agree - the poplar on black looks very nice.

Idrive - don't have it and can't say I'm sorry either... but for those that love it now - that's great

Definitely get the CA. I love the Nav, too. Piece of cake to master.

I wouldn't call it a piece of cake to master, but I do like it, and it's getting easier to use with practice. I like the keyboard destination entry in my wife's Toyota, but the voice entry in the BMW is way cool. A "dash top" aftermarket nav is cheaper, but I think it looks kind of dorky perched on the dash like a Virgin Mary statue.

Soon to be proud new owner!

I took the plung. Getting F'ed on my trade so I will try to sell it on my own.

Saw a Monaco blue side by side with the Mystic. Both are nice but the Mystic looks too much like Topaz which I have now, so I'm going with the Monaco.
The long wait begins...........

Make sure to test out every option before ordering. The sport package and Comfort Access sound great, but they're not for everyone.

What exactly is Comfort Access option ? We don't have that in the UK, or its called something different. Somethig to do with car locking/ fobs ?

Car Theft does not seem to be a problem in the US. Don't you guys other ther worry about car theft ? In the UK we have Alrms fitted as standard. ( I think we have legistation that all cars are alrm fitted) - I am ordering Tracker system as well as the Alarm, which informs Tracker HQ and local police that Car has been moved/ in motion without owners consent.

It comes out to 50,000 for the car becuase you figure sticker just over 42k and plus I have a 9% tax, and don't forget the finance charges over 5 years (which is like 6k or something close to that)and you are looking over 50k... YIKES!

With CA (Comfort Access) a small transmitter in your key fob allows your car to sense when you are near the front doors, trunk, or ignition. You can use your key fob the old fashioned way, but you don't have to. The moment you slide your hand between the door and handle, the door unlocks and mirrors retract (if they are folded in). When you get into your car, you can just push the start button without inserting your key. To open your trunk, simply lift up on the button handle on the trunk. When you leave your car, CA will NOT allow you to lock your keys in the car. Once you and your fob are outside, simply touch the ridges on the door handle, and your car locks. Hold it down and your mirrors retract, windows and sunroof close.

IMO, this is by far the coolest option I have ever had in a car.

p.s. when you get the OEM factory alarm, CA activates and deactivates the alarm seemlessly. One piezoelectric tone for lock/activate, two tones for unlock/deactivate.

My preference is SP, PP and CA. Don't care about iDrive and Nav. If I want Nav, I will get a portable one (like Magellan whick sold for $500 in Costco).

Last minute advice

Last minute advice?

To thine own self be true...

If you get Satellite radio, make sure you either test it or get it set up in front of you...and look under the hood...some guy found a rag and an undone open oil cap under the hood after his engine blew on the way home.

Heh, I am also waiting but it is so hard not to go down and get a 330i right now, but in the end I know I am going to be happier with the extra power...

BTW, my SA showed me the paperwork for the new 328i and 335i production slots that should start in September. He thinks I can put my order in sometime in early August.

It IS a UK option as well - Option 322 "Comfort access system" (requires option 321 "Exterior parts in body colour")

Nice idea, but I weighed it up and decided to keep the £430....

It is as described in the preceding posts..
