Interesting. Well thus far I've only coded my car, which has FRM3, so I can't comment one way or another. But if other people come to me for this to increase my sample size, I'll update.

Has anyone been able to get this working on FRM2? I tried and my lights don't move outward like the video. 05/07 335i e92

One thing is... after you code the AHL2 feature... you have to test the car in a dark garage or put something over the sensor near the rear view mirror - other wise this feature will not work. When I was showing a friend this feature.... we threw a jacket over the windshield/sensor - then the AHL2 lights worked.

Ah! That is probably why it didn't work. I will try again when I get home.

OK so I covered the sensor and it still didn't work. Maybe there's more that needs to be done for FRM2 to work? No clue at this point. Not sure if any nettodat coding interferes with it from working.

Sorry, but I am no coder. I know to code this feature is kind of tricky. A few people I know who do coding for a living also have had trouble trying to figure out this mod. IF I find anything more out... I will post it here. Hang in there.

So I've tried coding "AHL2_ENABLE" to "aktiv" on my European 2006 E90 but couldn't get this working. Recently I have upgraded from FRM1 to FRM2 and I also have adaptive bi-xenon so this shouldn't be a problem, right? I see this code in my NFRM but apparently I have the same problem as someone before me with E92. Does anyone have any more information regarding this? I have done a lot of coding but can't seem to get this right.

When you change it to enable and then test it... make sure that you cover the sensor(s) around the rear view mirror. Otherwise it won't work. I threw a thick jacket on top of that mirror area - then you could see the headlights move like in my video.

Will try this out, thanks for advice! I'll report back later.

So I've put a glove over windshield sensor and no magic, still not working. I guess I have the same problem as user "nvn" with 2007 E92. Will try again at night, but I don't have high hopes.

So, tried this at night but nothing, doesn't work as videos I've seen here but there is one difference! Adaptive xenons now work also on high beam as before only low beams were turning into corners, but not anymore, which is also cool!

That may or may not be true for Canadian market cars. In the US, all 135i's came stock with Adaptive Xenons. 128i's came stock with Halogens, with the option to upgrade to Adaptive Xenons. In other words, Non-Adaptive Xenons were simply unavailable in the US market.

How do you know if you have an FRM3 module or not?

Our Canadian 2011 model 128i has upgraded xenon headlights, (which move up and down when powering the car), and I have a wifi ODB2 on route. I really hope to turn on the European style adaptive code.

I'll confirm once I get it.

Forgive my presumptuousness and ignorance.

Let us know how that works out! BTW, when the xenon headlights move up and down on startup, they are self-levelling, not an upgrade.

Yes, after some further reading on this post, it looks like I'll be out of luck on this. All four headlamps are clear, which indicated they are self leveling only, and not active.

Tested it on my FRM2 (2008 135) and no go. The driver's side doesn't move outwards. I know it works on an FRM3 (my wife's 2011 335i, which actually came with it enabled). And comparing the two side by side, it is a noticeable change on the left side low beam and the height of the high beams.

I'm not giving up yet on my FRM2...just isn't as easy as I thought it might be.

It has to be possible. My car is a 2010 US spec 135i - and it works on my car. A friend of mine has a 2008 EU spec 135i, and he was able to look at my coding and copy it to his car. It did take him a few tries though, so it is kind of tricky. But then again he is a master coder. I will contact him again.
