Shadowline vs Black Matte Kidney grills

might be a stupid question....but wat is the difference between the two? i can't tell looking at pictures color wise if there is a difference!

shadowline has a gloss to them like your trim around your windows, the matte black is without a gloss. almost impossible to tell in pics, but very obvious in person. I struggled with the same decision. I ended up going with the bmw perf shadowline trim and have been VERY happy...it looks really sharp. but also depends on what color your car is and what you are trying to accent.

I went with the glass black shadowline as well - so glad I did!

Went with Tischer. $80 shipped to my door.

I went with the shadowline kidneys too. I wanted them to match the shadowline trim around the doors.

Only problem I have with my Shadowline grilles, is some brainiac at BMW thought it'd be a good idea to mold the grilles in white plastic. I've already got a few rock chips in 2 weeks that show bright white underneath.

I have a feeling I'll be switching to the matte grilles as I asuume they are molded black ABS throughout?

So matte grille owners, is it black plastic throughout? Or is it "painted" or coated black?

That's the problem with painted grills is that they chip, the matte grills are solid ABS plastic so there is no white underneath.
