Maybe someone can chime in? I would really like to hear a solution b/c I am out of a warranty and it seems like my options are really limited at this moment...

I've tried the DIY where I tried to stick my hand from the top and under but there was no way to tighten up the arm. Also, from what I've heard, even after that fix the noise will eventually return.
That's a great question. Only way to know forsure is yanking the turbos off.

lol, i think because of the absurd amount of effort it takes to remove the turbos is why bmw just decided to replace them.

Dumb question time - Is it bad for the engine to be driving with the waste gate rattle? I don't have it yet, but I would like to save some $$$ before hand and while it happening. That way I can go with a different turbo altogether. Just get rid of the waste gate.
