Thanks. Turned out better than I imagined. Actually one of the most enjoyable mods I've ever done by myself.
And yes, it is LMB & Lemon.

Does the sill pull up, or out?

Is there a specific tool that is designed to handle those fragile clips, or at least something people with experience installing these side skirts can recommend?

I really hated these side skirts at first, although my view is softening a little now.
The 135i I'm buying already has them, but the seller is giving me the old ones in case I decide to go back to stock. Does everyone love these? Maybe I'll feel differently when I see them in person. |

I think they bring a little more interest to the side profile of the car and take away from the sag look (i.e. potbelly pig look). Make it look a little sportier...

They make the side profile of the car look a lot more aggressive and sportier for sure. The same can be said about the 135 bumper! I will be picking up a pair in the next weeks from Dan's GB on the commercial forum, so I can't wait to try these on!

The door sill clips are almost impossible to get out without breaking. Just have to wedge something in there... they are all turned different directions too... I broke a lot, but they still snap back perfect.

Bought the performance side skirts and took them to my body shop to be painted but both skirts had cracks in the plastic. Have to send them back and get replacements.

Sucks that you couldn't install right away. Remember that lifting up the door sills can be a PITA. My clips broke almost every time...

I used an interior trim removal tool to remove my sills, no broken clips and no damage.
When I removed the BMW ones to put the M ones when I first got the car, I just pulled and broke every clip. Lesson learned......use the right tool for the job. |

Hi guys can anyone remember the size of the hex screws underneath the skirt?
I've just tried a 5mm Allen key and it doesn't fit. Last edited by Silverblack; 07-02-2012 at 06:47 AM.. |
