If you buy a limited edition car in the UK the dealers think they are doing YOU a favour by selling it to you! I don't expect to receive any gifts from my dealer any time soon.

Mine arrived in yesterday's mail. The pre-loaded media is surprisingly quite interesting. The flash drive itself is well-made with real heft. Nice gesture.

How long ago did you guys pick up your cars? I haven't seen anything yet. Do you know if they mailed it to the address where the car is registered or the mailing address on file?

The gift is from BMWNA not the dealers. It was sent to my home address.

Got my car ED 08/08/2011, to my dealer 10/10/2011.

Maybe they are sending them out in reverse order of delivery dates.

Very slick marketing tool. The note that came with it said, "Once you've inserted your USB key and registered online, it's yours to fill as you desire."

Although it is probably only the paranoia of advancing age, it left me with the uneasy feeling of a ten-year-old being offered a shiny bauble by a stranger.

But, so help me, I have never been much good at resisting shiny baubles. Case in point: I have an orange 1M sitting out back in the garage.
