I just saw, on the BMWUSA web site, that my vehicle is in route to the US after 8 wks. My dealer has not provided a ship name but I do have a VIN. I entered the VIN into the WW's web site but they do not have any shipping information. Does anyone have any suggestions at what else I can do to locate my vehicle?

Try it on the NYK site.

I'll try to over here. We are getting so close to leaving this god forsaken country. I can litteraly smell the inside of my new car, I'm that ready for it. lol.

Funny you mention the smell of a new car. My wife has a 2003 325i. The first year it was in storage because we were assigned to Latin America. It has 29k miles on it. When we went in to look at the 135i the sales people could not believe it still had that new car smell.

Keep low and return safely.

Took me almost a week to get home from Ass-Crack-I-Stan last time I deployed there between the various stops and equipment drop offs. Only took 24hrs when I flew out of there as a civilian...go figure.

Thank you. and yeah its looking to be a week or so before I get back, I change my last statement, I'm at KAF now first stop of the trek.

Can't stand KAF... did 6months at Sharanna and 4month as a civilan at Leatherneck. KAF always drove me nuts whenever I had to travel through there or stop there. Granted Bagram isn't any better just too many damn people there which equals a nice juicy target for indirect fire.

Recently received information that my vehicle was on the "Dover Highway" with an expected delivery date of 5/9/2012 at Brunswick, GA. From what I can gather the ship was built in 2011 and is owned by Carolina Shipping.

I see you are waiting delivery of a very good selection. I would certainly guess that your delivery will be Brunswick? Do you have any information on, approximately, how long it takes to get through customs and cleaned up for delivery by truck to the dealership?

You ain't kidding. I loath this place. We are over in the new RSOI buildings right next to the shit pond. lol. I'm so ready to be done with Afghanistan. And to Sochermit, I don't know how long customs is going to be for GA, but I was told that Car in port in CA on the 3rd and I am expecting delivery on the 10th I believe.

Sorry about the confusion. The question about processing of new vehicles was meant for you. I see you are in GA and was wondering if you have any information about the processing in Brunswick which I imagine your vehicle will be coming into?

You are absolutley correct. I certainly did not mean to say that our streets are more dangerous. It is just that I really hate to read where a returning veteran was shot and killed by some crazy lunatic robbing a convenience store. Or one killed while enjoying their new ride...

My experiences cover the Cuban blockade and Viet Nam. Neither of which I was in eminent danger as you have experienced. I just mention this to point out that is is so nice to return home. But sometimes we relax and forget the dangers of our own country.
