Power reduction

So this was completely out of the blue. I literally just changed out my charge pipe yesterday and put the stock CP and diverter valves back on. Went to an appt this afternoon. When I gave it a little gas the half shaded CEL came on. Pulled over, cut the car off, started it again, light was gone and continued on my way. After my appt drove it home easy and when I was close to home I gave it some gas brought the RPMS up to about 4 and the light came on again and noticed reduced power. I know the half shaded CEL means reduced power but could be a lot of things. Any chance that this is related to the CP, diverters, maf? I double checked all the connections and everything seems tight and in place. Please tell me this isn't the turbos. Lol. Any help or advice? Thanks

Did you put the o ring back when you swapped the stock cp back in?

Have you considered getting the codes read?

Now that you mentioned that, I remember which I ring your referring to I believe. I did rush thru it and realize that I didn't put it back in the stock cp. What a rookie ass mistake. Would that affect the power that much? I guess it would cause a boost leak if it's not sealed correctly...hence the loss of power. I'll try that. Thanks

Yes. But before I take it to BMW and pay $120 for a diagnostic I wanted to check here to see if maybe I messed up something installing the stock cp. And it appears as someone mentioned I rushed thru and forgot the o ring. If that solves the problem then no need to get the codes read. If it doesn't, then I will in fact take it in and get the codes read.

Yep, that'll do it! Super common - I almost made the same mistake with mine.
