Anyone looking for Performance Exhaust?

I've got a BMW performance exhaust on my car here in Portland, but it's a little loud for me. Wondered if anyone in the Portland/Seattle area was looking to go with the performance exhaust system on their 135? Maybe we could meet up at a shop and "swap" exhausts (plus the difference in cost of the perf system that we could work out). I had the OEM black chrome tips put on though so it's the performance system without the performance tips.

Let me know!

All these people complaining about the Performance exhaust being too loud is starting to concern me. Is it truly the volume or is it the exhaust note or is it drone? I can't seem to get a clear answer. All I know is from what I hear on the videos it sounds wicked. Best sounding exhaust hands down.

There is NO drone. It isn't that loud compared to your average stock "sports car." It is wonderful!

It's completely subjective, and a bit bold to state "There is NO drone."

A LOT of people do find there is a bit of an annoying drone that surfaces when cruising around 3200rpm on the highway. For anyone that goes on trips lasting more than an hour this drone can become very annoying very quickly.

I just slapped the OEM resonator back into the perf exhaust system last week in place of the y pipes and now I'm perfectly content. The drone is gone and I only get the beefy exhaust note when I lay into the throttle. It's a really great compromise, IMO.

I just did a 2.5hr drive this weekend mostly in 5th gear 90mph at 4000 rpm...with windows up no issues, windows down...was really nice sounding but never annoying.

Personally, I'm beginning to wish the performance exhaust was a little louder! There may be a slight drone, especially when cruising in 6th at a low RPM, but for me, it's not the bothersome kind at all--I actually would not mind if there was a bit more drone.

+1. Depending upon your driving style, the drone may never be noticed. Aggressive throttle application or driving in the higher RPM range (>3K) reveals an exhaust note that will supersede any presence of drone.

I agree it is subjective, and the term, drone, often has a negative connotation attached to it. I used to drive ol' American muscle cars so I don't classify it as drone at all. I guess it just boils down to a matter of perspective...
