Shift without Key - Auto
I wanted to move the car a little forward after the wife parked it too close to gardening implements. I didn't have my key, but tried everything I could think of from previous autos to get it to nuetral without the key, no luck. Is there a way?

The car has an automated gear lock. It's a part of the EWSII safety systems in the car (to prevent car theft etc). You need the key to unlock the gears. Same reason why you can't take the key out until it's in park.
Same in e46, e60, e90... |
