Catless DP & Pass The Emission Test?
If you have a catless DP, please let us know what kind of DP fix that you have and did your car pass the emission test recently? Curious mind wanted to know since I have an AR catless DP and JB4 installed, and my emission test due in March 2012 and I wanted to be sure no problem ahead of time. Thanks.

^^Correct
Also, make sure that once you have the tune off (so it doesn't blind your sensors) you complete a drive cycle to get all your sensors reading again. If you don't do this, your car will be rejected by the inspection machine. Follow the directions here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365042

I will use my BTscanner to clear all error codes and performe a complete drive cycle as mentioned above before I take it in for a emission test. Thanks for the feedback.

What do you consider a complete cycle drive? I have been told its not the mile you put on, it the number of duty days, I have further been told its 10 duty days, meaning you have to drive it for 10 different days to give the ECU the data it needs to store so it doesn't read empty when the ECU is hooked up to the OBD 2 tester. Anyone else hear the same thing? I have cleared codes thinking I can go in and get retested after driving 100 miles or so as indicated by the inspector at the inspection station only to still get the message not enough data or no data exists. I know the BT Scanner clears out the ECU of any stored data, while I have used other code clearer's that only remove the code indicated, namely banks 1 and 2 catalysts not performing as they should. But the problem with enabling the autoclear will cause the JB4 to be active like the N54 JB4 and not allow the OBD scanner to "read" through the OBD port. (unless it's different for the N55 guys)
I had the same concerns and chose to get the standalone BMS DP fix. That way if I decide to disable the JB4 to run diagnostics with the BT scan tool or any other OBD scanner the JB4 won't be active and the scanners can read what they need to read.

The drive cycle has to be completed in a continuous fashion which means I can not do it in stages, right?
Also, someone mentioned the JB4 DP fix will not allow the BT Scanner to scan for error codes, is this true? Please confirm. Thanks.

NOW......If you have a standalone DP Fix (not the built in one of the JB4) The BT Scanner can read everything from your ECU. I have a JB4 and also have the separate BMS Dp fix. That way if I want to disable the JB4 for whatever reason, I won't throw O2 sensor codes or have other issues.

No, we have plastic covers over them. We usually have secondary cats as well.

I am more concern what necessary steps that I need to carry out in order to pass the emission test in GA which consisted of ODB II port reading and visual. Visual inspection should not be a problem since the guy who ran the test is my friend and he told me as long as my car pass the ODB II port reading part and he will pass the test.
Given what I have, below are propsed step that I will carry out before taking in for a emission inspection: 1. Set the JB4 map to o 2. Check and clear all error codes 3. Drive the car through a complete drive cycle 4. Ensure no CEL or SEL or any warning lights pop up then take it in for inspection Does it sound right to you guys? Thanks for the feedback again.

Yes. The N55 was made with a bigger primary cat and did not need another set.

The N54 has secondary cats, the N55 does not.
